Side by side

With all the modern smoke extraction solutions available, why can’t smokers smoke in public places. I was in Munich airport last month and saw smoking cabins which didn’t interfere with non smokers. We are all adults and as smoking is NOT illegal we should still have the right to smoke in a public place.

I agree, why should our human right to smoke be impeded, by so called do gooders. Governments are complaining because of lack of tax revenue on the one hand then strangling the tobacco industry with restrictions on the other.

Saw the other day where the prez told tobacco companies to backoff on fighting the warning labels – yeah right – who the hell is he kidding – folks know there is potential of harm! What will be next????

Smoking restrictions are not about public safety. They are about discrimination and belittlement. Anti-tobacco extremists are now trying to legislate restrictions with respect to e-cigs- not because they pose risks to the public, but because they look too much like “actual” smoking. The lack of logic and common sense in this area is mind numbing.

Do you ever get the feeling that we are living in a nanny state and governments are trying to wrap us up in cotton wool so we don’t hurt ourselves. Whatever happened to “Common Sense”? Oh I remember it’s not that common anymore.
