Liggett group’s general counsel sent a letter to FDA protesting the nomination process representing small tobacco businesses.
FDA has previously made clear that only small manufacturers could vote / nominate a representative to their category. Liggett contends this was not intended in the legislation and they should have some say under a broader definition of a small manufacturer.
Any view and opinions?

Wow Liggett, you are just now realizing that this new FDA oversight group has the power to create, or do whatever it deems important. There are truly no checks and balances for these FDA regulations.
Are people really surprised that the FDA have a commitee with no representation from the tobacco industry? Once again the “politicos” will be able to make regulations based purely on a subjective basis. Do we really think that they will be putting public interest ahead of their political agendas?
