German Tobacoo Group seeks investors in European value brands

German Tobacco welcomes investors
Feb 12, 2009
German Tobacco Group (GTC) of Frankfurt, Germany, is seeking strategic investors and partners for completion of its first two acquisitions of German cigarette manufactures and the international launch of its S.A.L.E. brand.

Introduced to Austrian and German markets in 2007, S.A.L.E. focuses on the dynamically growing international value brand’ segment in Europe.

With a market volume of 95 billion cigarettes, 20 million adult smokers, a shift from premium to value brands and a predictable tobacco taxation policy, Germany is still an attractive operating environment for tobacco companies, according to GTG.

What’s more, Germany still allows billboard advertising and recently loosened smoking restrictions in bars and restaurants.

think they should be a 4th tier company now – how can a value tier brand survive today with the recent price increases

Dear Smoky, am happy to email you current Global Tobacco Industry Analysis 2009 and Outlook (Euromonitor) so you may ‘enlighten’ yourself about current and future market trends regarding dynamically growing ‘international value brand’ segment. Just email me your real name and email address and I am happy to share some facts with you, you might not be aware about!

Hey I’d like to see those facts. Can you just explain some of it on the post? I’m always looking to be enlightened!

Please email me, review the facts (Euromonitor Study 2009) and post them to ‘enlighten’ your fellow members at your discretion. Am not a blogger myself.
Regards.

Please let me know if you have any similar information for the middle east. Launching a new brand anywhere is virtually impossible.

Dear Malinart.
Nothing is impossible! Especially today more and more consumers/smokers are looking for new brands and product innovation in tobacco. As in other consumer goods segments (beverages, apparel, etc.) the generational tastes in the globalized marketplace are changing rapidly which you see in the stagnation and decline of famous U.S. brands in many international markets (Levi Strauss, Lee, Coca-Cola, Jeep, Winston, AOL, etc.) and the inability of Western brand owners to capture global consumer needs and tastes with contemporary, innovative and cross-cultural offerings embracing Los Angeles, Moscow, Bejing and Cape Town. Our brand S.A.L.E. will be launched soon in ME as well and we have already qualified licensee/distributor interested in new brand/product innovation. If you or any member of this blog can assist in converting ppt.-doc ‘Global Tobacco Industry Analysis 2009 and Outlook’ into weblink everybody can share and discuss the findings in this very unique Euromonitor study. This should add facts and substance to a sometimes superficial exchange on a blog comprised of established and knowledgeable industry pros. Have a great weekend!

I agree with you! However, finding on the ground support in these areas is another story. I have a product that is innovative and will be growing as it is in the US. I have never liked to wait and see what the “Big Guys” do as I don’t like to follow. I see an opportunity where the first in will be able to set and control the market as the popularity begins to grow.
Like you said, it can be done but, you have to find the right people to support you in the market.

That makes two of us.
Let me know, if and how I can be of service.

I could not find your company at the adress in frankfurt….noone knows that company there…i think the whole story is a big scam ….

Dear ‘Ceasar’.
Why don’t you properly disclose your real name and true reason for your inquiry and our German CEO Mr. Neumeister or myself will accomodate any serious and qualified inquiry?
At present your comment seems nothing more than a disrespectful, unqualified and unsubstantiated remark which looks like it’s only goal is to display your negativity and incompetence to a blog community:

Sirs, I would like 2 40/ft containers/month of tobacco leaf rolled cigar/cigarettes for export from your country. I have my own plates for printing. These cigar/cigarettes must not have any flavoring added. Will need up to 10 containers/month on down the road.

To further create your power image and polish your look, consider changing your hairstyle, improving your skin’s
