I have to add something about the town of Seneca Falls NY. I understand from what I have heard, read and studied that in reality the Native Americans OWN over 3/4 of the town of Seneca Falls however the government refuses to honor this fact. They treat Native Americans as less than human outcasts and try and tell them what they can do and how they can live . If you look at the name NATIVE AMERICAN and think about it..that means that they were here FIRST..we came from every country on the planet except this one and yet we said” we are superior to you and we will tell YOU where you will be allowed to live”..as I said above we should be ashamed of the way we treat the Native Americans. But Im sure there are arrogant people who will read what I’ve written and believe that they are RIGHT !! I heard once ” Only God can Judge ME”..who will judge YOU ?

I have a basic feelings about all of this mess in NY State. I was born and raised there and its my home however my heart is on the side of the Native American tribes all over the USA. This land was theirs long before the whites settled here.Who are we to tell them where and how to live. I am a white woman who is sick to death of all this land grabbing thats been goigon the hundreds of years. The Native Americans have been unfairly treated since the whites moved in and STOLE everything they had from them and called it “fair”. We took their children from them and placed them in work houses called “schools”. We killed their freedoms and placed the remaining people on reservations and when they fought back to preserve what was theirs we called them savages. The whole thing makes me sick and Im sure George Washington is turning in his grave as he gave thousands of acres to the Native Americans in a major land grant which we refuse to honor. We should be ashamed.

I SHOULD SAY THEIR ARE NON VIOLENT WAYS TO STOP THE GOVERNMENTS FROM TAKEING MORE RIGHTS FROM THEM. YEAH FIGHT THERE ARE THING THAT CAN BE DONE NONE VIOLENTLY. JUST HAVE TO MAKE THAT CLEAR.

well i think the natives should once and for all stand together quit bickering amugst them selves… and fight there are many things they can do to stop the u.s and canadian governments. but they have to be williNG TO GIVE UP SOME THINGS FOR A TIME. FIGHT GOD DAM IT FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS NOT JUST A FEW, THEN THEY WILL BE MADE AN EXAMPLE OF BUT EVERY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD. FIGHT NO ONE CARES ABOUT NATIVE RIGHTS THEY SATY YEAH LEAVE THEM ALONE BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIGHT. SO THE NATIVE COMUNITIES HAVE TO PULL TOGETHER.

The entire problem has to do with excessive taxation of cigarettes in New York state, and has absolutely nothing to do with Indian reservations.

i think white man should leave the indians alone. i have very little indian in me but i am proud of what i have. first started by giving us parcels of land 2 live,hunt,and fish on. then made them smaller 2 little plots basically. we were here b4 ne1. i think not only should they not tax cigarettes but should give us more of our land back.

Fact: The state of New York has absolutely no standing to regulate Indian Tribes. Treaties were negotiated with the United States government, not with any state, and those treaties grant the tribes soveriegn nation status. If the state does not like it, they are free to tear up every road leading into the reservation on New York land, but not to do anything that affects the reservation.

They are also free to air drop tax happy Bill Godshall into the reservation and try to encouarge the tribe to resume sacrificail offerings to the gods once again.
