FDAGuru is right, they will ban it. If you think the FDA and their partners in crime (Phillip Morris, Big Pharma, WHO etc) are just going to sit idly by while other companies sell nicotine, you’re off your nut. As with all bans, this has nothing to do with anyone’s health and everything to do with money. Their ultimate goal is to corner the nicotine market. Also, eventually, it will be law that nicotine and the terribly expensive CoEnzymeQ10 and Deprenyl will be removed entirely from cigarettes, for obviou$ reason$. In fact, they may make smoking so lethal that they’ll actually be able to scientifically prove that smoking causes cancer and disease! So, the e-smoke will be banned, but will return under control of the FDA/Phillip Morris etc, for obviou$ reason$.

Australia’s health authorities have banned the e-cigarette and the FDA will, too. Pointing to an ad for a “new” nicowater is about as persuasive an argument as pointing out internet sellers of controlled drugs and concluding they are now legally imported by patients w/out an Rx.

One point though from your link — NicoWater guys got smart and are trying to re-present their product as a TOBACCO product.

Think about that.

FDAGuru’s posting is a FDA transport rejection of a product from China, not a rejection of application by an e-cigarette manufacturer, nor a cease and desist order prohibiting the sale of an e-cigarette product.

So far, the FDA has taken no action to restrict or ban the sale of e-cigarettes.

The best way to let smokers continue reducing their health risks by using the e-cigarette is to include the product (and similar nicotine delivery devices marketed as alternatives to cigarettes) within the scope of proposed FDA tobacco legislation (and to not impose counterproductive regulations on the product).

I don’t know why anyone would have thought that you could sell what the FDA considers to be a drug (i.e. nicotine) without filing an NDA and obtaining approval…. I don’t care how good your intentions are…. Frankly, I could probably save lots of lives of selling unapproved drugs that work but guess what — that’s not the regulatory regime we live under.

Don’t shoot the messenger here — I did not design the system, but to somehow imagine that FDA is going to make an exception for the e-cigarette because you guys think it is a good product is naive…

Not trying to be cross or contrary. Appreciate all the posts on this forum.

If you ask me the FDAGuru guy is probably a guy working for a pharma company that wants to just stop these new smoking alternatives to further line the pockets of the Pharmaceutical Industry with lots of money. Or he just has a closed mind and would rather protect the Marlboro company. Amazing to see folks talk likwe this – if the product saves lifes let it alone – FDAGuru get a life stop protecting the tobacco and pharmacy companies with your nonsense. Or would you rather see people continue to die! Makes no sense to me!
